Using Sneezesafe* stories
The stories are best used with a whole class via a projector and whiteboard (interactive or otherwise), although they can also be shown with a large conventional computer monitor or the downloadable PDFs can be presented. Each story consists of a series of screens with text, pictures and animations. Teachers can control the pace of the story by using the arrow button to move on to the next screen.
Teachers can ask pupils to take turns to click the mouse or press the arrow on the interactive whiteboard to move through the screens: this can be a useful incentive and will help pupils to become involved.
For each screen teachers will need to read the text aloud; it will also be necessary to ask questions regularly to reinforce the learning points: a set of questions for each story is included in the lesson plans.
The lesson plans also include a number of suggestions for practical activities to follow up the stories based around the concepts covered and to further reinforce learning messages.
