Sneezesafe* stories and games
The main part of the Sneezesafe* website contains learning materials for teachers and parents to use with children aged 4–6. The materials comprise the following resources.
Three animated stories:
These act as an introduction to the subject of respiratory hygiene and feature two lively cartoon characters, Nathan Noseblow and Suki Sneeze, who explain to the children how germs can cause colds and flu and how they spread. The third Sneezesafe* story shows how correct use of tissues can help prevent the spread of cold and flu germs and so help us stay healthy.
The second part of the programme consists of three fun games:
The aim of these games is to reinforce the learning messages from the stories and to help children remember how to use tissues properly. The games are exciting, easy to play and have different levels to add a challenge. You can, of course, play these online games with your child at home – why not give them a try?
The Sneezesafe* website also contains a Teachers’ zone which has notes for teachers about how to get the most from the presentation and activities, plus classroom follow-up ideas, curriculum links, and downloads, including a poster and certificates.
